Laurel Hughes exhibition

Patty, Cathy and I went over the bridge and “up the line” to Boston Saturday PM. A friend, Laurel Hughes, is a Manchester artist and had a show opening at the Nielsen Gallery on Newbury St. Frustrated artists that we are, we decided to take a ride and it was well worth the trip. Her works are immense and emotional. Not well versed in “abstraction”, I’m at a loss to describe them, but, suffice to say that I was moved to find out more.

We also had a really nice meal in the Colonnade Hotel at Brasserie Jo. It was 5PM on “symphony night” so the dining room was filled. The people watching (as well as dinner) was superb.
Nice to go “off island” once in a while. But only in winter. :)
