My niece Julia had her recital with Mitchell’s Dance Studio at the old Memorial Junior High in Beverly MA last weekend. They work so hard. I got some great video.
My niece graduated from Reading High School last weekend. We had a great time listening to the speeches, watching the people, sweating. Here’s a taste for you.
For 25 or so years the parcel on Roger’s Street known as I4C2 has been owned by a developer that couldn’t develop because of federal restrictions. Mayor Kirk and the city counsel did what several other administrations were unable to do: they found the money and made the deal happen. Now Gloucester owns the parcel and gets to use it as we see fit. So far, the Cape Ann Farmer’s Market will be moved there and maybe some parking for the Fiesta. I’m sure next year will see more “developments”. See site clean up video compliments of goodmoringgloucester.org .
Memorial Day and flags mean memories, thanks and summer time. The signal here in Gloucester MA is when the flags go up on the Boulevard. The dogs and I caught video this AM on our way back from Ravenswood.
The debt crisis in Europe is being felt around the world. (Another example of how “connected” we all are!”) Mortage rates here have been pushed under 5% again. See Nick Timiraos’ WSJ article for details and perspective.
A 5.75% $400,000 30 year fixed mortgage refied to 4.75% would save you about $250 per month. Might be time to check it out.
We’re lucky to have so many artists here on Cape Ann. And lucky to have artists working in different media. The craftspeople at C.B. Fisk have been designing and building concert hall organs for about 50 years. From scratch. Ingots of lead turn into pipes, lumber into keyboards and cabinets. It’s an amazing process. You can view the transformation at their open house Saturday June 12 right at the shop: 21 Kondelin Rd. Gloucester MA 01930. Good Morning Gloucester has some video, too.
“Trouble right here in River City. Trouble. That starts with “t” that rhymes with “p” and that stands for POOL!”
Good way to get in shape for parade season. June 4th, 5th and 6th at the GHS Putney Auditorium.
Once gone Mac, never going back…
Life is sooooo sweet when your phone and computer interface.
Btw the iPad is not a $700 computer. It is an iPad.
If you like spending hours on PC’s, doing things that Macs do in minutes, obviously you’ve got way more time then $ !!! Have at ‘er.
Sometimes, there comes a time in our lives (often when we are older, as opposed to younger), when we figure out that life doesn’t have to be crude and bloody. It is OK to go the softer, gentler, efficient, stress free and creative route…Most of us use power steering and automatic transmissions these days too! and yes, I was brought up to believe I’d get a higher place in heaven with all the suffering I do in life! So when I grew up, I got a Mac and a new religion
oh yea, if the $700 PC is so great, why are you giving the Mac all that free rent in your head?
Once gone Mac, never going back…
Gloucester High’s own JROTC won another drill competition and, as a result, got a one in a lifetime visit from the Marine’s CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter. Patty was out walkin’ the dogs and caught the players on video. She has all the fun.
… of the beast known here in Gloucester MA as “the cut bridge”. This riveting video shows the Blynman Bridge Master at his controls and an actual “opening” on a cold day in December. If you like “behind the scenes”, it doesn’t get much better.
